Welcome to Mad & Kaffe in Vesterbro
This is where it all started. One café on Sønder Boulevard and a simple idea: you tick your own boxes and choose what goes on the table. Ten years on, you can visit us in five different places, but Vesterbro is still the first.
We open at 8.30 with brunch, move on to lunch and finish with a glass of wine as the sun goes down. We make the food from scratch with seasonal produce, and the coffee is our own, roasted by Copenhagen Coffee Lab.
But the atmosphere is still completely down to earth, and we keep our prices at a level everyone can afford.

Visit our café in Vesterbro
You'll find us at Sønder Boulevard 68, facing the green belt that divides the street. Kødbyen is a ten-minute walk away, and Folkehuset Absalon is right opposite. It's the kind of neighbourhood where people sit down with a cup of coffee and stay longer than they'd planned.
Inside there are around 70 seats and room to talk. No airs and graces. Just a place to settle in, whether you're here for brunch with the family, lunch on the go or a glass of wine after work.
When the weather allows, we move out onto the pavement with 30 seats, and then all you have to do is find a spot in the sun with the street life of Sønder Boulevard going on around you.

Food for big and small appetites
From when we open at 8.30 until the kitchen closes in the evening, you'll find seasonal produce on the menu at our café in Vesterbro.
The morning is all about brunch, fresh coffee and juice. At midday it's smørrebrød on rye and sourdough, and that's something we really care about. If you fancy something else, there's steak tartare and the M&K burger.
When evening falls, there are light dishes to share and larger dishes, a glass of wine and draught beer from To Øl.
The menu changes with the seasons.

Two hours every Friday when we cut our prices on drinks, wine and beer. Drop in after work, or book a table if you want to be sure of a seat. From 17.00 you can order from the evening menu if you get hungry.

Got something to celebrate? We're happy to host the party while city life goes by along the green belt outside. Lunch or evening, you decide.
Our staff take care of the rest, so you can stay at the table and talk for as long as you like. Drop us a line with the date and number of guests, and we'll sort it out.

M&K Running starts in Vesterbro
If you're into running and coffee, come along. M&K Running is our running club, and it's based right here on Sønder Boulevard. In odd-numbered weeks the Friday run starts at 7.00 from the café, and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays we run from M&K Hub at number 65.
It's free to run with us, and after the Friday run we have breakfast together. If you live in Vesterbro, you've got no excuse.
